RUMFORD – Three more people have announced their write-in candidacy for a seat on the nine-member Charter Commission.
Linda French, a member of the Downtown Revitalization Committee, Richard Lovejoy, a community activist who chairs the River Valley Growth Council, and Linda Macgregor, a member of the River Park Committee and others, announced on Monday that they are seeking seats on the commission.
Another write-in candidate, Eugene Boivin, a former selectman and former chairman of the previous Charter Commission, announced his candidacy last week.
Those who took out nomination papers for a seat on the commission and are listed on the ballot are: tax collector Carlo Puiia, land manager and pastor Joseph Roberts, and financial advisor Ron J. Theriault.
Selectmen last month appointed teacher and artist Linda Couture, former Selectman Jim Thibodeau and retired educator Walter Buotte to the commission.
The polls, at the American Legion hall on Congress Street, will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today for the Charter Commission vote.
