Gary L. Kimball
1958-2009
WASILLA, Alaska — Gary L. Kimball, 51, of Alaska, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, at his home after courageously battling cancer since 2007.
He was born in Rumford, Oct. 19, 1958, the son of William Kimball and Jeannine (Boulanger ) Hall. He was educated in Rumford schools; graduating Rumford High School in 1977.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1978 to 1983.
He was employed at ESS Support Services Worldwide as a district manager in the Alaska Division. He enjoyed his work and loved everyone he worked with especially George Cuzzort and family, Larry Weihs and family and the office staff. They were some of the best friends one could ever have.
He loved Alaska for its fishing, hunting, boating and scenery we rarely received a picture of just him, it always came with the “The Catch of the Day.” He was known for his woodworking and gardening. When he wasn’t working, fishing or hunting you could find him in his garden or work shop.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Davis of Wasilla, Alaska; father, William Kimball and companion, Sandra Skillin, of Dixfield; his mother, Jeannine (Boulanger) Hall; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth (Spaulding) Hodsdon of Rumford; two brothers, Bill Kimball of Delta Junction, Alaska, John Kimball and his wife, Luisa, of Stafford Springs, Conn.; three sisters, Brenda (Kimball) Lutick and her husband, Mark, of Auburn, Tammy (Kimball) Cote and husband, Richard, of Rumford and Neva (Hall) Lavorgna and companion, Todd Wardwell, of Rumford; goddaughter, Kiana Kimball of Stafford, Conn.; godson, Josh of Alaska; a companion and best friend, his dog Homer; loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by stepfather, Keith Hall; paternal grandfather, Jesse Hodsdon; maternal grandparents, Lea (Grimard) Boulanger and Louis Boulanger; an uncle, Gerard Boulanger; a cousin and friend, Gordon Hanington.
In the Summer of 1984, Gary held the hand of his best friend and boss Brian, after an explosion of fuel drums that took him from his wife and young son at the age of 26.
“Golden heart stopped beating, two shining eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us. He only takes the best”. We’ll miss your smiling face.
