WILTON – A vandal nearly destroyed a Halloween exhibit in Wilton last week.

A resident of Main Street reported one of the inflatable displays in front of her home was losing air around 9 p.m. Thursday. The eight-foot stack of pumpkins exhibited near Firehouse Video had been slashed with a knife, according to Ed Leahy, the town’s interim police chief.

The owner was able to repair the glowing pumpkins with tape, Leahy said.
