Dear Sun Spots: It looks like Kiley Bennett from Channel 13 is expecting. I would like to know when? Is this her first? – Curious to Know.

Answer:
Sun Spots corresponded with Kiley who was thrilled to share her wonderful news. She and husband John cannot wait for the baby to arrive. She says the baby is due in July in what has been a busy year, to say the least, for the couple. Kiley and her husband John were married on Oct. 14, 2006, and have been together 10 years. Last year, she writes, we bought our first house, then we got our first dog – a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Now the couple is proudly awaiting the birth of their first child.

Sun Spots and readers wishes you all the best Kiley and John. Many congratulations from all of us.

Dear Sun Spots: This is the most information I see every morning. Awesome!

Firstly, Hannaford used to sell a pasta named Dreamfields but they stopped. It’s very important to diabetics as I am. It is five grams of digestible carbs to help control blood sugar. Please, Hannaford, put Dreamfields back on the shelves!

Also, I have a stainless steel sink that must be more than 40 years old. It now has stains on the double sink. I never knew stainless steel would stain. – Curious in Rumford.

Answer:
Regarding your first question, Sun Spots wondered if you’ve spoken to your local Hannaford manager. She has discovered that some stores are able to order such items for its customers. You might check out their Web site, www.hannaford.com, which allows for such requests. In the meantime, contact Hannaford Bros. Co., P.O. Box 1000, Portland, ME 04104, or for customer concerns or questions 800-213-9040. Please also note that it is possible the store has merely begun to carry another brand with a similar carbohydrate count. You might check the labels of pasta in your local store.

Another option is to check your local health food store to see if they might be able to assist you. Sun Spots chatted with Red Hill Natural Foods owner Barbara who says she typically recommends trying whole grain pastas. She’d be happy to chat with you about your nutritional needs. They are located at 228 Waldo St., Rumford, 369-9141, and are open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday’s until 7 p.m. and closed Sundays. The store also carries a lot of whole foods and Barbara notes that a lot of people in the greater Rumford area are cooks! Way to go Rumford!

Regarding removing stains on your sink, Sun Spots often uses Ajax which works very well. Another option might be to filling your sink with vinegar or something similar to see if that works. Perhaps readers might also have some tips for you in removing these stains.

According to www.housekeeping.about.com, another option is making a mix of baking soda and liquid dish soap to gently rub on stains. Be sure to rinse the stainless steel surface thoroughly, and towel dry.

If stains still remain, try a stainless steel cleaner and polisher. Barkeeper’s Friend is a good powder formula that can clean without scratching. Be sure to follow the directions, rinse thoroughly, and towel dry. These methods should help remove the discoloration.
