PHILLIPS – The Phillips Men’s Club will meet for a 6:15 p.m. supper Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Community House. Team 3 with Capt. Steve Haines and members Steve Smith, Jerry Haines, Terry Haines and Mike Powell will serve.

Auxiliary sale

FARMINGTON – The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a holiday craft and food sale starting at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in the hospital lobby. There will be baked bars, cookies and homemade craft items.

Craft fair

FARMINGTON – A craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Sandy River Nursing Care Center. The fair will include the work of 15 crafters. A corn chowder and seafood luncheon will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there will also be a silent auction. Proceeds from the fair will benefit the Residents Council.

FAYETTE – The Fayette Recreation Committee invites the public to a community holiday party from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Fayette Central School. The party will feature an evening of music, refreshments and socializing. Door prizes will be given to 10 winners. The Kents Hill School will send two students to entertain with piano music. Bean feed

NEW SHARON – The New Sharon Congregational Church will sponsor a take-out bean feed on Saturday, Dec. 6. Dinners may be picked up from 10 a.m. to noon and include one quart of baked beans, one pint of coleslaw, rolls or brown bread and a whole homemade pie. The dinner costs $12. Spaghetti supper

FARMINGTON – A spaghetti supper to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Farmington Elks Lodge. A donation of 45 per person and $3 for ages 10 and under will be accepted.

JAY – United Bikers of Maine Franklin County invite the public to its annual Christmas party from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Jay Veterans of Foreign Wars. Hoop Shoot

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Elks’ Hoop Shoot contest for girls and boys ages 8 to 13 willl be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Mount Blue High School. Local winners advance to district, state, regional and national competitions.

Club gathering

NEW VINEYARD – The New Vineyard snowmobile club will have its Christmas party and a short meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Smith Memorial Hall. Members are reminded that men bring a gift for men and women a gift for women, parents a gift for their child and a snack/goodie to share for refreshments. The group is hoping to see new faces.

STARKS – Northfield, an a capella choral group, will perform traditional seasonal music and period pieces at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Church of Christ, Starks Presbyterian Church on Route 43. Christmas concert

WILTON – The Syncopations will perform a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the First Congregational Church.

The all-girls group from Mount Blue High School will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City in March. They have produced a Christmas CD which will be on sale at the concert.

Donations will be accepted at the door. Refreshments will be served following the concert.

Historical Society

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Historical Society will meet Monday, Dec. 8, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Academy Street. There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. followed by a business meeting and program at 7 p.m. The program will be a Christmas sing-along led by Emily Floyd at the piano.

Town meeting

JAY – A special town meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Jay Middle School cafeteria.

The Jay Town Office will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 11, to upgrade the computer software.
