LIVERMORE FALLS – A Buckfield man was injured Friday after his car was struck from behind and propelled into a house at 1155 Park St, also known as Route 133.

No one was home at the house when the car entered.

Dale Whitney, 54, of Buckfield was turning left into the driveway at the Robert Burhoe home when an approaching car driven by Sarah Baran, 21, of Monmouth “plowed” into the back of Whitney’s 1965 Pontiac Lemans at highway speed, Livermore Falls police officer Ken Bryant said.

The nose of Whitney’s vehicle, up to the bottom of the windshield, went into a room in the house caving in a wall, Bryant said.

Baran said she didn’t see Whitney’s car, Bryant said.

Both Whitney and Baran, who was driving a Ford Taurus, were going north toward downtown Livermore Falls at the time of the accident, Bryant said.

Bryant said he didn’t have an estimate of damage to the house, but said it was “substantial.”

Whitney complained of neck and shoulder pain and was taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, Bryant said.

Bryant said Whitney’s vehicle was totaled and estimated that Baran’s vehicle had about $1,500 damage. It was driven from the scene, he said.

Livermore Falls firefighters assisted at the scene.
