Due to state budget constraints, clerks’ offices in Maine’s district and superior courts and the Supreme Judicial Court are opening at noon this week. Most state courts usually open between 8 and 8:30 a.m.

The delayed openings will allow court personnel to catch up on work they need to do, according to a notice issued by the state’s judicial branch.

The later openings are scheduled to last through Friday, Oct. 1.
