CUMBERLAND, R.I. (AP) – Two people have been found dead after a house fire in Cumberland.
Firefighters recovered one body from the rubble Thursday morning, then found a second body around 1 p.m. Authorities have not released the names of either person. Two people and five dogs were believed to live at the home. A dog was also found dead.
Authorities say the fire began around 4:30 a.m. with an explosion. The house was rapidly engulfed in flames. Firefighters witnessed a second explosion shortly after they arrived.
Police say there were propane tanks inside the home.
