NATICK, Mass. (AP) – A 93-year-old Natick woman who failed to arrive for a Christmas Eve Mass has turned up safe in Seekonk, some 45 miles from her home.

Natick Police Sergeant Joe Hayes says Seekonk police found Katherine Michael in her car after receiving a report about an erratic driver.

Hayes says Michael seemed physically OK, but disoriented. She was unable to explain how she wound up in Seekonk, except to say that she was looking for a gas station.

The elderly woman was reported missing after telling her son she planned on doing some last-minute Christmas shopping before meeting her family for the Christmas Eve Mass at St. Zepherin Church in Wayland.

Hayes says the family and members of the police department who had been searching for Michael were relieved when they learned she had been found.
