TAMWORTH, N.H. (AP) – An Ossipee police officer is recovering after crashing while speeding to another officer’s call for help.
Officer Kevin O’Meara crashed in neighboring Tamworth just before midnight Monday night. Ossipee Chief Rick Morgan said O’Meara lost most of one ear in the crash.
Morgan said O’Meara was speeding through a thick fog after a Tamworth officer called for help in a domestic violence call. The chief said O’Meara was unfamiliar with the road and crashed after swerving off the road to avoid a parked police cruiser.
A Tamworth man was arrested in the incident on charges he threatened a family member.
