TAMWORTH, N.H. (AP) – Residents and community groups turned out in force this week to speak out against a proposed mountainside driving track.

They warned the town Planning Board that the Club Motorsports’ proposal could disturb animals, create polluted runoff and drip fuel from inevitable accidents into the water supply.

No decision was reached on granting a building permit after a public hearing this week on plans that were revised to meet local wetlands regulations.

The developer insisted the layout of its three-mile course would have a minor impact on wetlands, would not harm endangered species or unique wildlife habitat and would not harm surface or underground water.
