DURHAM, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire’s university system is beginning a program to make college more affordable for more people.

It’s called ACE, stands for Affordable College Effort and begins next year for low-income students.

The program is designed to make up the difference between college costs and a financial aid package for eligible freshman.

University system officials estimate that 70 to 100 students will be part of the ACE program next year, getting about $4,500 each in financial aid.
