CONWAY, N.H. (AP) – The New Hampshire Nature Conservancy must decide what to do with 1,200 acres of protected land in Conway, now that attempts to sell it have fallen through.
The wooded Bear Paw lands are tied to an easement that prevents development.
Jeff Lougee, project manager of the conservancy’s Mount Washington Valley Chapter, says none of the seven bidders fit the strict terms of the conservation easement.
He says the group may try again in a few months to find suitable buyers.
Money from the sale of the Bear Paw lands wold have helped the conservancy buy 500 acres of land in the Ossipee Pine Barrens.
