PHILLIPS — International exchange program SHARE! is currently seeking volunteer host families for international exchange students that will be arriving in January for enrollment in local high schools for the spring semester or academic school year.

This year, the SHARE! high school exchange program expects to welcome more than 500 students from more than 30 countries.

The students are between the ages of 15 and 18, speak English, are covered by medical insurance and have adequate spending money for their personal expenses. They are in need of American families, with or without children, to provide a home and share with them experience abroad.

The host family will provide a bed and meals, as well as friendship, understanding and a genuine desire to share the American way of life with a teenager from overseas. Families are able to review student applications and select the student they feel will best match their family.

The SHARE! program, a nonprofit educational foundation established in 1974, was created to provide opportunities for greater understanding between Americans and peoples of the world and is sponsored by Educational Resource Development Trust. Families who are interested in hosting can call Carla Wright at 639-5119 or visit www.erdtshare.org
