MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – The former captain of the Saint Anselm College football team was sentenced Thursday to nine months in jail for shooting skateboarders on campus with a BB gun last spring.

Derek DiMartino, 24, of Bedford, pleaded guilty to two charges of reckless conduct. In addition to the jail time, DiMartino must write apologies to the victims, tour the state prison and pay a fine.

The three teenage skateboarders were checked at a hospital and released. The college expelled DiMartino.
