PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Rescuers on Wednesday freed a humpback whale that was caught in fishing line off the Rhode Island coast.

The 35-foot whale was rescued by a disentanglement team from the Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown, Mass. The team was taken to the whale by the Coast Guard. They managed to cut it free of the line, which was wrapped around the animal.
