CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire’s four presidential electors will officially cast their ballots for Democrats John Kerry and John Edwards today.
The electors are former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, who co-chaired Kerry’s national campaign, campaign regional director Judy Reardon, state Sen. Peter Burling and state Rep. Jim Ryan.
Lyme naturalist on Animal Planet
LYME, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire naturalist Ben Kilham’s work with bears will be featured in a television special airing today on Discovery Channel’s Animal Planet.
Kilham of Lyme has worked with black bears for a dozen years and pioneered a revolutionary method of raising orphaned cubs by becoming their surrogate parent.
GOP in minority in N.H. House
MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) – The House Republican caucus on Sunday elected Rep. Richard Hube of Londonderry to be its leader and Rep. David Sunderland of Rutland Town to be assistant leader.
Leaders of the GOP, relegated to minority status in the House for the first time since 2000, said their immediate goal would be to work with Republican Gov. James Douglas to put the brakes on the ambitions of House Democrats.
“The next two years are going to be very difficult; I think we all know that,” Sunderand, an engineer appointed nearly two years ago to fill a House seat opened by Douglas’ appointment of a lawmaker to an administrative post.
