MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) -Police arrested two men and seized an assault rifle and thousands of dollars in cocaine at a hotel.

Officers were called to the hotel after a clerk recognized one of two men who checked in early Tuesday as having been involved in a previous drug investigation there.

Officers arrested Alexis Diaz, 21, of Nashua and Luis Medina, 24, of Manchester. One officer was hurt in a struggle during the arrests.

Police say they found more than $8,000 in cocaine in the room and an AK-47 assault rifle in Diaz’ car.
