DERRY, N.H. (AP) – Most of the antique items stolen from the historic Robert Frost Farm last week were returned in a package addressed to the town police.
Someone broke into the 19th century farm early last week, leaving behind beer bottles and stealing a velvet shawl, a rare pot scrubber, a pickle fork, a measuring cup and a button hook used to fasten buttons on shoes and shirts. All but the pot scrubber were returned Tuesday, police said.
“We’re almost back to normal,” said Laura Burnham, chairwoman of the farm’s board of trustees.
“If the pot scrubber comes back, I would be elated.”
Police said they were still investigating.
Frost lived at the farm from 1900 to 1909. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
