POLAND — Three children from Poland Community School mark Androscoggin County’s first confirmed cases of the swine flu.
Parents were notified by phone late Tuesday, only hours after the school was told, said Dennis Duquette, School Union 29’s superintendent.
The children, in the third, fifth and sixth grades, were sent home. Letters of notice were also scheduled to go home with parents and guardians of all students on Wednesday, Duquette said, with details about what do to should another child develop symptoms.
The school will remain open through Friday, the last day of the school year.
