Dear Sun Spots: Several months ago, a lady requested the loan of a Singer sewing machine buttonhole maker for a project she was working on. At one time, I owned a Singer sewing machine and in the process of cleaning out a room in my cellar I found the buttonholer (model No. 489500 or No. 489510) that came with that machine. The case is deep pink/salmon in color. My Singer machine was purchased in about 1968 and since has been replaced with a newer model. If this buttonholer would fit her machine I would gladly give it to her. She can contact me at 755-9453.

Secondly, I also need donated yarn for my Knittin’ for Kids project – hats and mittens donated to local school(s) for next fall. Any clean, worsted weight, acrylic yarn would work well. I also need 2-ply acrylic, coned yarn for standard gauge knitting machines as one of the volunteers provides mittens and hats made on a knitting machine. I also need donated yarn in baby colors, both worsted weight and 2-ply weight for a knitting machine for an afghan project for newly baptized infants at my church (Holy Cross). In addition, I’d love to hear from anyone wanting to volunteer for the Knittin’ for Kids project. In the past, our mittens, hats and scarves were donated to one school. Next year I would like to have enough for at least one more school.

Dear Sun Spots: I am the Edward Little High School Alumni Association secretary and am in search of any and all information on the upcoming class reunions for 2007. If anyone has information on the reunions for 2007, please forward the information on to me.
