AUBURN – The Lewiston-Auburn 911 Communications Center is seeking national accreditation by scheduling an onsite assessment of the agency from Dec. 6-10.
This assessment determines whether an agency has maintained professionally recognized standards. Part of the accreditation process involves feedback from the public.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc., the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in areas including administration, operations, policy and procedures, and support services.
If approved, the accreditation will be for three years.
Agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments by telephone. The public, and agency employees, may call 207-754-3901 on Tuesday, Dec. 9, between 1 and 4 p.m.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with C.A.L.E.A. standards. For additional information, please contact the Lewiston-Auburn 911 Communication Center, Director Andrew D’Eramo, at 207-786-5380.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the center’s ability to comply with commission standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Inc., 10306 Eaton Place, Suite 320, Fairfax, VA 22030-2201, Attention Program Manager Karen Shepard.
