LEWISTON – A Boston man arrested with 19 grams of crack cocaine on city streets in March was sentenced last week in Portland.
Vincente Fitzpatrick, 28, was sentenced by Judge D. Brock Hornby in 1st U.S. District Court on Tuesday to 16 years and eight months in prison.
Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty in June to trafficking cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine.
He was arrested on Oak Street on the evening of March 31 by Lewiston Police Department, Central Maine Violent Crimes Task Force and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration following an investigation into possible trafficking.
He was found in possession of 65 individual bags of cocaine with a total street value of $4,800, Lewiston Deputy Chief Michael Bussiere said. Fitzpatrick resisted arrest, sending one officer to a hospital emergency room with an injury, police said.
Fitzpatrick had two prior felony drug convictions and one for resisting arrest, police said.
