AUBURN – Local emergency, energy and social service officials will come together for an informational heating conference Nov. 16 at the Auburn Public Library.
The Energy 911 Conference is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. The public is invited to the free event to collect handouts and speak with officials about heating concerns.
Mayor John Jenkins will discuss Auburn’s programs to help people stay warm this winter and look for volunteers for his Neighbor’s Keepers program. That’s an effort designed to recruit residents to keep a watch over at-risk neighbors this winter, making sure they are safe and healthy.
The Auburn Fire Department will speak about heating safety, Maine Partners for Cool Communities will discuss going green to save money and Seniors Plus will provide a benefits checkup for older adults to make sure they are registered for programs to help them save money.
