MECHANIC FALLS – The plan to consolidate Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland schools into a single district will be on a special ballot in all three towns when voters go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The plan, prepared in response to the state’s new school consolidation law, was unanimously endorsed by the group of 22, with representatives of all three towns, which drew up the plan and by school committees in all three towns.
In Mechanic Falls, polls will be open in the Municipal Office Building gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m; in Minot, polls will be open in the town office from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and in Poland, the polls will be open downstairs in the town hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots are available at town offices in all three towns during regular office hours.
