LEWISTON – Androscoggin County voters will have a chance to meet their legislative candidates Wednesday, Oct. 22, when the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College hosts a State Legislature Candidate’s Forum.
Candidates whose districts are completely or partly in Androscoggin County have been invited to participate in this event.
Each candidate will address what he or she thinks are the two key issues facing the state and how to address the issues as a legislator. After their presentations, the candidates will answer questions from the audience.
The event will give legislative candidates the opportunity to discuss 2008 campaign issues with USM LAC students and members of the community, who are also invited to attend.
A reception with refreshments will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the forum beginning at 7 p.m. After the forum, there will be an opportunity for candidates to meet with voters. The event is being planned by Professor Marvin Druker’s media and politics class and will be the 10th time USM LAC has hosted a state legislative forum. USM’s Lewiston campus is at 51 Westminster St.
