LEWISTON – The Public Library will host a forum on Saturday to gather input on its long-range planning effort. The forum is in affiliation with a 17-member Library Planning Committee that began work in September with the goal of providing direction for library’s services over the next five years.

Saturday’s forum begins at 10 a.m. in the Couture Room on the first floor of the library, 200 Lisbon St.

Director Rick Speer will present an overview of the planning activity, including a report on the results of a Sept. 25 community visioning forum attended by 63 people. That forum identified visions and needs and focused on which needs the library could impact.

Following Speer’s presentation, people will have an opportunity to comment on visions, needs, or services.

Speer said, “The Lewiston Public Library has always prided itself in designing services to address the community’s needs, and it is important to the Planning Committee, library board, and staff to offer all members of the public a chance to impact the future directions of the library.”
