The third and final leg of the summer’s Greater L-A Triple Crown 5K Series will be held Sunday morning, starting at the Rollodrome on Riverside Drive in Auburn.
Streets will be closed in the downtown area to accommodate the race, which benefits L/A Trails.
The Kid’s Fun Run will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Rollodrome, crossing South Bridge. The bridge and surrounding streets will be closed while this event is run, and traffic diverted around the area.
The 5K begins at 9 a.m. at the Rollodrome, crossing the bridge into Lewiston and heading down Lincoln Street toward Simard/Payne Memorial Park, with runners crossing the park’s pedestrian bridge to return to the Rollodrome for the finish. The intersection of Main and Lincoln streets in Lewiston will be briefly closed during the morning, except to allow access to patrons of Yvon’s Car Wash. The intersection of Lincoln and Cedar streets will be restricted, and side streets off Canal and Lincoln streets will be barricaded to prevent vehicles from entering the race course.
Lewiston police encourage motorists to preplan their travel around these neighborhoods Sunday morning to minimize vehicle congestion and driver frustration.
Runners may still register for this event at the Rollodrome between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m.
