LISBON – A 51-year-old Lisbon woman, Noella Byram, was listed in serious condition at Central Maine Medical Center on Friday after being struck by a car late Thursday night on Route 196.
The driver of the car was identified as Sean Winstead, 17, of Woodland Avenue, Lisbon Falls. According to Lisbon police Lt. Daniel Michel, Winstead was driving east toward Lisbon Falls when he observed a pedestrian walking along the roadside. Winstead told police he started to slow down and the woman walked into the road. She was struck by the front of the car and was thrown onto the hood and into the windshield, police said.
Byram was semiconscious at the scene and was taken to the Lewiston hospital by Lisbon Emergency. Officer Shawn Kelly, who investigated the 10:05 p.m. crash, estimated damage to the front of Winstead’s 2007 Nissan at $1,500. Assisting at the scene were Sgt. Harry Moore and Officer Ryan McGee.
