LISBON – An out-of-state fugitive was arrested by the FBI Wednesday night on a federal warrant after a seven-hour search in a wooded area, police said.

Dennis Gallipeau, 55, was arrested without incident in an area off Wing Street on a charge of federal violation of bail condition, Lisbon Police Chief David Brooks said.

Dogs from Lisbon and Lewiston canine search teams helped with the FBI investigation that involved the Central Maine Violent Crimes Task Force and Lisbon police.

Gallipeau, who had been in Lisbon for only a few days, was in FBI custody Wednesday night and was to be arraigned in U.S. District Court in Portland on Thursday.

No information was available Wednesday night on the nature of the FBI investigation, where Gallipeau is from or whether he has any local connections, Chief Brooks said.
