AUBURN – A small brush fire on the Maine Turnpike was quickly snuffed by responding fire crews Saturday afternoon.

A brush fire near the northbound side of the turnpike at Exit 75 brought fire trucks to the scene around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. The fire scorched less than an acre of mostly grass alongside the highway, said Lt. Doug Ball. Crews quickly extinguished the flames and cleared the scene without incident, he said.
