LEWISTON – The Lewiston STD Clinic of Western Maine Community Action Health Services is offering free HIV testing to people who qualify for the service as part of National HIV Testing Day, Friday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 179 Lisbon St. Anyone who is worried about their risk for HIV can either call the clinic to make an appointment or walk-in during testing times.

National HIV Testing Day is an annual campaign produced by the National Association of People with AIDS to encourage people to receive voluntary HIV counseling and testing. Testing is important to the health of people who might be at risk of having HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

WMCA Health Services uses Rapid HIV testing so that people getting an HIV test can get their results in 20 minutes. The clinic offers both anonymous and confidential HIV testing.
