Tyler Jalbert, 6, of Auburn gets his second helping of pancakes from Julie Gile of Lisbon Falls during the 51st annual Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast in Auburn on Sunday. Around 10,000 pancakes and 600 pounds of Mailhot’s sausage were cooked by Kiwanis members for about 3,000 people, said Bud Nelson, operations manager for the event. Money raised, about $8,000, will benefit the club’s scholarship fund and assist the Kiwanis’ priority of helping children, said Dan Goff, chairman of the breakfast. Kiwanis members and volunteer students from Leavitt Area, Lewiston and St. Dom’s high schools arrived at 4 a.m. to fire up the 10 grills and prepare food. “We are all local business people having a heck of a good time,” said Nelson.
