The Dumont family of Auburn try to decide which bowls to choose from during the Trinity Jubilee Center’s fourth annual Empty Bowls Supper at the First Universalist Church in Auburn on Sunday evening.

Diners purchased bowls created by Maine artists and local students and received a bowl of soup in return. The event is one of two fundraisers held throughout the year for the Trinity Jubilee Center, a soup kitchen and emergency food pantry in downtown Lewiston. Trinity feeds 100 people a day and hands out 40,000 diapers a year, said event planner Dell Caron Gray. This is the third Empty Bowl Supper that the Dumonts have been to. “We have quite the collection of bowls,” said Julia Dumont, left, mother of five. The Dumonts, from left, are Julia, Noah, 9, Emily, 15, Rene, Austin, 9, and Connor, 13. Zach Dumont, 17, had to work and could not attend.
