Dear Sun Spots: Once again, I will try to make contact with someone who makes green tomato mincemeat. I’m trying to get about three quarts. I will buy it or swap for it. It’s up to you. Please, there must be someone who still puts it up! Give me a call in Bethel at 824-0115 anytime! Thank you. – Gerald M. Loring, Bethel.

Dear Sun Spots: While cleaning out a closet, I found my deceased father-in-law’s U.S. Army Officer class A green uniform – without the hat – that was last worn in 1973. Is there any military organization out there that would like to have this as a donation? Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
Consider contacting the Maine Military Historical Society, Camp Keyes, Augusta, ME 04333, 626-4338 to see if it can assist you. In addition, perhaps you might contact your local historical society to see if it might be interested in it.

Dear Sun Spots: A few weeks ago you had printed an article about a Butch Toothaker at Farmington Farmers Union. Several people asked me if I have read it. I have missed it and hope you’ll reprint it. It would be a great help to me. Thank you so much. – Steve Smith, No Town.

Answer: The only reference to Mr. Toothaker was in response to a reader seeking an electric wok, Sept. 9 column. Sun Spots spoke with Toothaker who advised they had one brand of wok they could order for our reader, a black 6-quart wok. Sun Spots advised the reader to contact Toothaker at the hardware store.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for the instructions for a crocheted towel topper for kitchen towels. I have purchased one at a craft show and would like to make one myself.

The one I have also has the crocheted button made out of a small plastic ring. If anyone out there would have the directions for this type of topper and wouldn’t mind sharing it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. – D.P., No Town.
