LISBON – Adam Roberge, 23, of Lewiston escaped apparent injury when his snowmobile broke through the ice on the Sabattus River early Wednesday night.
Lisbon police Sgt. Scott Stewart said Roberge was snowmobiling with two friends on the river when his machine went through the ice. He managed to get out of the water, but his snowmobile remains in it.
Roberge declined medical attention at the scene of the 6:49 p.m. incident, Stewart said.
The Maine Warden Service was notified and is expected to coordinate the effort to remove the snowmobile today.
