MINOT – The Democratic caucus will take place Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Minot Town Office Building. It will start at 2 p.m.

Prior to its start, from 1:30 to 2 p.m. anyone who is unenrolled or who wants to register to vote as a Democrat may do so. Anyone who will be 18 by Nov. 1 may register and enroll. Only registered Democrats can participate in the caucus proceedings but others are welcomed to observe.

The first business items conducted will be electing a caucus chairman and secretary; approving a municipal Democratic committee and election of officers; approving county committee members; adoption of bylaws; and discussing issues people wish to prior to voting for delegates and alternates to the state Democratic Convention in Augusta, May 31 and June 1.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., voting for four delegates and four alternates by presidential preference will take place. Election of delegates and alternates will be determined by a proportional formula determined by the state Democratic party.

Anyone wanting further information of having any questions should contact Ernie Hunt, Minot Democratic chairman and caucus convener at 345-3102.
