FALMOUTH – Registration is open for participation in the Maine Chapter, National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s walk MS, Manpower Maine Walk 2008. Participants may register by mail or by phone or online at www.msmaine.org.

More than 4,000 Maine residents battle the effects of multiple sclerosis. Each walker is encouraged to raise $100. Last year, more than 3,500 walkers and 200 event volunteers joined the walk to raise $460,000. Teams of family members and coworkers can register to walk or to volunteer at www.msmaine.org or by calling 1-800-526-8890 or 207-781-7960.

Manpower Maine Walk 2008 will be held in 12 locations throughout the state. Local walks will take place as follows: Androscoggin County: Lewiston High School; Augusta: Togus Veterans Administration Medical Center; Brunswick: Brunswick Junior High School; and Greater Portland/Scarborough: Scarborough High School.

All local walks will be held Saturday, April 12, with registration at 8 a.m. and the walks at 9.
