LEWISTON — Brenda Elizabeth Cadman, daughter of Gary and Marilyn Cadman of Lewiston, and Alvin “Doug” Joseph Hanks, son of Guy and Barbara Hanks of Westfield, were united in marriage on July 1, 2017, at the Old Souls Chapel, Poland Spring. Deacon Dean Lachance performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride is a 1978 graduate of Lewiston High School, University of Maine, Orono, and the University of New England. She is employed as an international travel agent at Direct Travel and has a social work private practice in South Portland.

The bridegroom is a 1975 graduate of Presque Isle High School and Electrical Technical School. He is employed at Bath Iron Works as an electrician.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a vintage, off-white gown designed by Maggie Sottero. It had a dramatic illusion lace neckline, back and sleeves and embroidered lace appliques adorned with Swarovski crystals from shoulder to floor.

Mary Konstantine, friend of the bride served as the matron of honor. Jim Burke, friend of the groom served as best man. Christopher Hanks, son of the groom, and David Cadman, brother of the bride, served as ushers. Weston Hanks and Orson Hanks, grandsons of the couple, served as ring bearers.

Lifelong friends of the couple provided various parts of the ceremony. A reception followed at Poland Spring Resort. The couple enjoyed a two week honeymooned in Hawaii and now reside in South Portland.
