LEWISTON – A man was stabbed Sunday afternoon after a fight broke out on the corner of Walnut and Pierce streets, according to police officer Danny Lachance.

Several people were involved in the 1:30 p.m. fight, he said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was stabbed several times.

He was recovering after surgery Sunday night, listed in critical condition.

Several people were being interviewed regarding the incident but no arrests had been made, according to Lachance.

The incident is being investigated by police Detective Scott Brady.
