GREENE – State police are investigating a report of a teenager who passed out this week after drinking a fifth of whiskey and was revived.

The 17-year-old’s mother called police, who are attempting to learn where the teenager obtained the liquor. No charges have been filed. The 17-year-old was not identified.

On Nov. 17, Adam Beggs, 18, was found unresponsive early Saturday morning in a Granite Street apartment in Auburn, police said. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he was pronounced dead after ingesting a large quantity of Vodka in a short time.

Larando Sweetling, 23, of Auburn was arrested on a charge of furnishing alcohol to a minor, unsworn falsification and violation of conditions of release in connection with the death. He remains jailed.

Police said the death of a University of Maine freshman soccer player from England during the Thanksgiving Day weekend was suspected to be alcohol-related.

An autopsy on 19-year-old Adam Baxter was performed at the state medical examiner’s office. Results are pending.

Baxter was found dead early Nov. 24 at a home by emergency medical technicians who responded to a call that a man was having trouble breathing. The death remains under investigation.
