LIVERMORE FALLS — The Spirit of the Season Parade and Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 5. Santa’s Workshop will be held Sunday, Dec. 6.
The parade begins at 5 p.m. Saturday from the MEMCO parking lot in Jay, and will proceed down Main Street into downtown Livermore Falls to Union Park/Geneva Hodgkins Memorial Park where the tree will be lit.
After the parade, people are invited to stop in at Santa’s Workshop in the former loan department of the Androscoggin Bank on Main Street. It will be a chance to visit with Santa, enjoy some refreshments and get a photo taken, organizers said.
On Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., the second annual Santa’s Workshop will be held in the same place. Santa will read stories and children, ages 15 and under, may purchase gifts for 25 cents for their families. Those items will be gift wrapped for free.
There will also be baked goods for sale and free coffee for parents while they wait for their children. Individuals or businesses may donate $5 to light a bulb on the Spirit of the Season Tree in honor or in memory of a special person. All funds collected are used to buy coats for children in the Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls area.
This event is hosted by the Spirit of the Season Tree Committee: Jackie Knight, Barbara Cook, Rachel LaBrecque, Carmen Cullen and local community members.
