LEWISTON – Twin Cities elected leaders will discuss downtown planning and get a progress report on joint services efforts Tuesday night at Lewiston City Hall.

City councilors and mayors from Lewiston and Auburn will be on hand for the 7 p.m. meeting.

That master plan would help guide planning and economic development decisions for the future. Councilors had discussed creating a joint city master plan group when the two councils last met in August. But several councilors said they needed more information and questioned how the downtown plan would be better than other comprehensive plans and studies.

According to plans in August, each mayor would name five residents to the master plan committee. Local community groups will name the remaining five spots.

Participating groups could include the Lewiston Development Corp., the Auburn Business Development Corp., the chamber of commerce, L/A Arts and L-A Trails.
