LEWISTON – Alice Johnson, the 77-year-old Wales woman hurt when she crashed her three-wheeled bike into the back of a parked truck on Wednesday, was improving Friday at Central Maine Medical Center.
Johnson’s condition was upgraded to stable from serious the night before, according to a nursing supervisor at the hospital. A relative said Johnson suffered several broken bones in the bike wreck, but she did not require surgery.
Johnson has become well known in the areas of Sabattus, Greene, Wales, Leeds and Monmouth after logging more than 10,000 miles on her bike since 1993.
