LEWISTON – Police say thousands of dollars worth of copper was stolen over the weekend from a building under construction at the Lewiston/Auburn College campus. Police believe the building at 50 Westminster St. was burglarized between late Friday night and early Monday morning.

The suspects removed and stole all of the copper pipe that had recently been installed, according to Lewiston police spokesman Michael McGonagle.
