Why are you seeking another term as a city councilor?

“I absolutely really love what I’m doing. You get so involved in helping people. I have a lot of things still in the works that I’m working on and I want to follow through to make sure that they do get completed. I feel very passionate about what I’m doing and I don’t want to not get re-elected and have it all drop to the side.”

What can you do to provide relief for Auburn property taxpayers?

“Working the budgets for the last two years, it’s extremely difficult. And with the mayor’s group that he appointed, they had some really good ideas.

“A lot of them were good, and a lot just wouldn’t work. So I could see us implementing some of those. But this budget was really bare bones. And how to cut any more, I can’t see any drastic places, where you can drastically cut. Like I said, maybe we can implement some of those suggestions they did bring up.”

Please rate yourself. What could you have done to make things smoother for the city, the citizens or the City Council?

“I’ve done a lot. I’m very proud of myself. I’m a very caring person and Councilor (Bob) Mennealy, Councilor (Belinda) Gerry and myself, we put together a flier and we presented a flier (for tax relief.) It was a package of a whole bunch of things that citizens could file for and get a rebate.

“The council didn’t go for it, but I felt very strongly about it. So, we took it upon ourselves. We went to Auburn Highlights and we bought the ad. And it was mailed to every homeowner in Auburn. And that’s what my goal was – to reach every homeowner.”
