GREENE – The registrar of voters is holding extended hours through the rest of the month for new voter registration:
• Monday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
• Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
• and Saturday, Oct. 28, 8 a.m. to noon.
The expanded hours will allow residents extra time to complete voter registration applications. Satisfactory proof of identity and residency are required. In order to qualify as a voter, a person must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age and a resident in the municipality where the application is being presented. Also, a 17-year-old may apply if they will be 18 before the election on Nov. 7.
