LEWISTON – A fire at 29 Chadbourne Road resulted in approximately $25,000 damage to a single-family home Sunday afternoon.

According to Lewiston Fire Capt. Roger Beaudoin, homeowners Steve Sampson and Marie Fleming were not home at the time of the fire, which broke out around 1 p.m.

“Four pumps and one ladder truck responded to the fire,” said Beaudoin. “We had the fire under control quickly and were only there a couple hours to finish up.”

Lewiston fire inspectors were called to the scene, but could not determine the cause of the fire. Since the fire was not ruled suspicious, no further investigation will follow, explained Beaudoin.

“From what I understand, the owners do not have insurance on the home,” Beaudoin said.

The home is repairable and Beaudoin said he believes the owners plan on making the necessary repairs.

Sampson and Fleming were not allowed to return to their home Sunday night.
