GREENE – An Auburn woman’s car careened off another vehicle and into a power pole Saturday night at the intersection of College and Sawyer roads.
Maine State Police Trooper Ricci Cote said Esther Holbrook, 57, of Auburn, allegedly failed to stop at the intersection, and her car hit a green Pontiac four-door driven by Sylvia Snyder, 62, of Greene at 7:16 p.m. Saturday.
Holbrook’s car continued on, hitting a Central Maine Power pole and snapping it in half. She was taken to Central Maine Medical Center and treated for neck pain. Snyder was unhurt in the accident.
Damage to Snyder’s car was estimated at $2,500, Cote said. He estimated the damage to Holbrook’s car at $8,000.
