AUBURN – An 18-year-old Turner woman suffered minor injuries Thursday morning when she fell asleep at the wheel on Route 4 in Auburn, rolling her car into Auburn Plains Cemetery.
Police said Cassea Leavitt, 18, was driving north on her way home before 7 a.m. when she fell asleep. The car veered off the road and into a guardrail in front of the cemetery.
“Then, the car’s momentum took over,” said police Lt. James Robicheau. The car flipped into the cemetery, coming to rest on its side.
Leavitt was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with minor injuries, he said.
